We adopted Kera Noel (formerly "Project Kera") in November of 2004. She had come into the shelter with a badly damaged right hind leg. Her leg couldn't be saved so it had to be amputated. After all she went through she still had such a happy spirit and was as loving as could be. We brought her home ...Read More...

I adopted Gretchen from NHA in February 2004. She had been "fixed" a day or two before our visit and was very quiet and sweet. Almost two years later she is still sweet but the quiet in her is LONG gone! At 17 lbs and all legs, we have determined that she is most likely crossed with either a Whippet ...Read More...

This summer, I volunteered here. I finally managed to convince my dad to let us adopt another dog, but he didn't want the one I wanted. I wanted a puppy named Aurora. Woof! (Hello in Dog) I couldn't be happier here! Since coming to live at my new home I get to do all sorts of things that other dogs dream of. My mommy loves to run so I get to run about 12 miles a week and my daddy takes me to the dog park where I get to play with friends. But my favorite thing ...Read More...

I adopted a kitten named Mortimer from the shelter last September. He didn't look like much of a Mortimer to me, but he somehow looked like a Kaspian, so that's what we've called him since the ride home from the shelter. He just celebrated his 1st birthday (he was 3 months old when I adopted him) and ...Read More...
