Hi, my name is Jill and I adopted 'Benji' from the NHA with my brother about a month ago. We weren't really looking for a new pet, but we enjoy going to the shelter just to spend some time with all the animals. We looked at many dogs, and took them out one at a time. Benji was one of the first I saw, and he stared up at us with his bright brown eyes, but didn't get up. We decided to take out other more energetic dogs first. We were getting ready to leave when I realized we had never taken Benji out! So we went and got him, and immediately realized that we had saved the best for last! He was so sweet and just wanted to cuddle, and already was coming to us when we called. We came back the very next day and took him home.

He is doing GREAT; just the sweetest most adorable lapdog I could have asked for! He gets along with our 10 year old German Shepherd, as well as our cat. Benji is incredibly smart and is quickly learning lots of new tricks! He also just loves going for long walks and playing at the dog park! And best of all, since he is an older dog, we haven't had ANY accidents in the house or chewed up shoes! (My mom really loves that last part.)
