What is a Super Pet?

A Super Pet is what you get when you spay or neuter your dog or cat at Nashville Humane Association. Because animals that have been “superfide” are happier, healthier, live longer, and best of all, help prevent homeless animals in our community.

Only $10 for a Rabies Vaccination
(available with every surgery)

ROVER has completed more than 52,995 spay/neuter surgeries since 2003. Rover, the little blue dog, roams all over Davidson County in a BIG yellow bus looking to help qualifying cats and dogs with low cost spay and neuter surgeries. The ROVER bus (a 26′ LaBoit) is a surgical unit on wheels, equipped with state-of-the“art equipment including: 2 anesthesia machines, digital scales, autoclave, surgical lighting, microscope, as well as medical supplies.

ROVER travels four days a week and is staffed by a Veterinarian, Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician (LVMT), Veterinary Assistant and Project Coordinator.

Qualifying pets receive:

  • spay or neuter surgery
  • pain medication
  • vaccinations
  • flea/tick treatment
  • nail trim
  • post-op call from the LVMT to assure recovery is progressing well

To qualify, participants must bring proof of the following:

  • food stamp card, free school lunch program card, or WIC documentation
  • disability letter or V.A. disability letter
  • last year’s tax return statement
  • public housing rent receipt or Section 8 letter
  • Social Security income documentation

Fees:  For those who qualify, ROVER’s services are available for just a $10 fee.

Due to the rising costs of rabies vaccinations and licensing, NHA will no longer provide this in your normal $10 fee. If you would like a rabies vaccination license there will be an additional $10 charge for this service. Thank you for your understanding.

Please note, an appointment is necessary. No walk-ups are accepted.
