Pets that are Available in Foster are currently taking a break from the shelter and spending time living in one of our temporary foster homes.
If you’re interested in adopting a pet that is Available in Foster please complete the Inquiry form above or send an email to email@example.com
Once we make contact with you, we’ll answer any questions you may have about this pet, and then coordinate a time for you to talk with the foster family.
If it seems like a good match, then we’ll move on to the meet and greet stage and coordinate a time where you can meet the potential adoptee pet and see if you want to make it formal and forever.
If so, we’ll set up a time for you to complete the adoption at Nashville Humane. You’ll need to bring the adoption fee and your ID at that time and be ready to pickup your new pet on that day. All adoptions are processed at our Nashville facility during normal operating hours.
You must be 18 years of age to adopt. If applicable, your landlord must be aware and consent to your adoption.
Our adoption fee varies per pet depending on age, breed, and/or medical condition(s). This fee includes:
Spay or neuter surgery
Heartworm test on dogs 6 months and older
Any current medications (if applicable)
We encourage our adopters to use our contact-free card payment system when completing their adoption at NHA.
The Nashville Humane Association (NHA), incorporated in 1946 to protect the well-being of animals in Davidson County, is one of the oldest service organizations in Nashville. We are committed to finding responsible homes, controlling pet overpopulation, & promoting the humane treatment of animals.
