Contact Pawsitive Impact Program

Thank you for reaching out to contact Nashville Humane Association. Our Pawsitive Impact Program is available to the public to help people who need information, resources and assistance with services like our Community Pet Food Bank, assistance for training, or people who are considering rehoming their pet.

If you are in need of pet assistance, please follow this link to fill out our request form. We are working diligently to answer all requests in the order that they are received. Due to the high volume of requests, this may take up to two weeks. Your patience is appreciated. In the meantime, these resources offer assistance.

If you have a question about adoptable pets, donations, events, media requests, volunteering, fostering, or other general questions, please visit our General Contact Us page for assistance.

Abandonment is now illegal in Tennessee, but it still happens. As of July 1, 2025, abandoning an animal is a Class A misdemeanor for a first offense, and a felony if it happens again. We know that life can be hard, and sometimes people feel like they have no other option. We also recognize that the need in our communities is often greater than what shelters like ours can provide. But even then, abandoning an animal is never the answer. Abandoning a pet puts them and the community in immediate danger, spreads disease, and makes it harder for shelters to give them the care they need. If you need assistance with an animal in your care, please call us at 615-352-1010 or fill out the form above.
