On June 17th, our community came together for 80 for 80: A Community Celebration with Lifesaving Impact, a Giving Day created to celebrate our 80th birthday!
Our goal was ambitious: raise $80,000 in one day to help ensure Nashville Humane can continue saying yes to animals in need for years to come. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, not only did we reach that goal, we surpassed it. Together, our community raised $95,829 for the animals who need us!
Celebrating 80 Years of Lifesaving
Throughout our 80th birthday year, we’ve reflected on the countless animals, adopters, fosters, volunteers, staff members, and supporters who have shaped Nashville Humane since 1946. For 80 years, this community has been the heart of our mission. Every adoption. Every foster placement. Every medical procedure. Every second chance. Each one has been made possible by people who believe animals deserve compassion, care, and a brighter future.
80 for 80 was designed to celebrate that legacy while also investing in what comes next. Because while our foundation is our legacy, it’s not our finish line.
Why 80 for 80 Matters
Animal welfare is unpredictable. Some days bring healthy pets ready for adoption. Other days bring animals requiring extensive medical care, neonates needing round-the-clock support, or senior pets with nowhere else to go.
During 80 for 80, we shared stories of animals whose lives have been transformed because Nashville Humane was able to say yes.
We introduced supporters to animals like Sugarbear and her puppies, who needed months of foster care and medical support to grow and thrive. We shared Mustachio’s story and the impact of our Fospice Program, which provides ongoing care and loving homes for animals with extensive medical needs who are not candidates for adoption. We highlighted Roman, a kitten born with a rare congenital condition requiring specialized surgery, and Fiona, a dog preparing for airway surgery that will dramatically improve her quality of life.
While each story was unique, they all shared a common theme: When animals need us, we want to be able to say yes.
The funds raised through 80 for 80 will help ensure Nashville Humane can continue providing medical care, foster support, behavioral resources, daily care, and lifesaving services to the thousands of animals who depend on us each year.
